An up-and-coming drummer in the Icelandic music scene, Jón G. Breiðfjörð is a versatile session musician based in Reykjavík, Iceland. Since beginning his musical journey at the age of seven, he has performed with orchestras, big bands, drumlines, and numerous other projects, developing a dynamic and adaptable playing style. He graduated from the Iceland University of the Arts in 2022 with a BA in Creative Music Communication, specializing in jazz performance.

Jón has been an active figure in Reykjavík’s underground and alternative music scenes since 2021, performing regularly with a diverse range of artists and bands. His career spans live performances, studio recordings, and collaborations across multiple genres, with a strong foundation in jazz, funk, rock, and hip-hop. He has performed at major venues such as Harpa Concert Hall and festivals like Iceland Airwaves and Norðanpaunk. His work with Flesh Machine has earned critical acclaim, including awards at the Stockfish Film Festival and nominations at the MUVID Awards.

Currently, Jón performs weekly at a local jazz jam session and biweekly at a traditional folk session, continuously exploring new musical styles. He also assists at the Iceland University of the Arts, performing with jazz ensembles whenever a drummer is needed. Committed to his goal of becoming a top-tier session musician, Jón has contributed to multiple singles and albums since 2022 and continues to push creative boundaries in his craft.
